The most common crystal question I get asked is “what’s the best crystal(s) for protection?”.
Now what does that mean, exactly? In a nutshell, people usually mean that they’re looking for a crystal that can prevent them from being negatively affected by unwanted energy or influences.
It could be other peoples’ stress or emotional energy; ill-wishing, cursing, or psychic attack; envy, fixation, or jealousy; sorcery; malevolent spirits or spirit attachments; manipulation or abuse; a run of bad luck or ill fortune; or even the bad vibes of a room, house, building, plot of land, etc.
There’s generally a list of crystals I can suggest, but the truth of my experience is that not all protective crystals work the same — what you work with very much depends on what’s affecting you and what you need.

The immune system, which is the body’s defense mechanism, protects us from external agents like bacteria, viruses, fungi, and so on. If our immune system isn’t healthy, a simple scratch can be fatal.
This system is also impacted by our emotions (anger, self-destruction, hate) and by our positive and negative thoughts, which may strengthen or weaken it. That’s why it’s vital to make sure that our immune system functions as well as possible by giving it the opportunity to effectively combat aggressors.
A well-balanced lifestyle, healthy diet, exercise, and the use of stones and crystals will enable us to improve the body’s immune responses and stay healthy.
In today’s industrial society it is wise to develop a strong immune system early in life, and good habits and prevention are the best ways to do so.

Most stones have a very active life of being handled, traded, shipped and packed before they end up in their final homes. If you buy a stone from a store, or receive one from someone, it’s a good idea to cleanse all the energy that the stone may have picked up on its journey. In cleansing its energy, you prepare it for a new life and purpose in its new home.
Let us begin by differentiating between the cleansing and charging of stones. To cleanse a stone is to remove the energy that a stone has absorbed and return it to a clean, pure energy. To charge a stone is to replenish its energy after it has been depleted. Though some use these words interchangeably, a stone must often be cleansed before it can be charged.
The first (and some say easiest) way to cleanse a stone is to smudge it with sage. Start by lighting a stick of sage and blow it out so that it continues to smolder, producing a steady stream of smoke (think incense). Hold your crystal directly in the plume of smoke and let the smoke rise around all sides of the crystal. Continue to do this until you feel like it has been cleansed enough. (Five minutes is more than ample time). This is a great method to use for cleansing stones if you are pressed for time.
